There is a significant amount of seed sold from the UK with the prime objective of re-importing the resulting consumption potatoes.

Although Caithness Potatoes does not as yet directly buy re-imported potatoes we are actively involved in facilitating this process.

Currently there is considerable trade in Valor from Egypt to all parts of Europe, Osprey is being exported from Spain and Israel to the UK, and Valor produced in Israel is being sold to both the UK and Canary Island markets.

In addition, consumption potatoes of Nadine, Maxine and Merlin are being produced in mainland Europe for further export to third countries.
