Because export markets need to be serviced, audited and commercially assessed in a different way from our domestic UK market, in 1993 the Caithness directors decided to create an autonomous subsidiary company : Caithness Potato Exports Ltd (CPEL).

CPEL offers exclusive Caithness varieties to a range of markets and also a significant range of “free ” varieties which are also produced for CPL.

The directors and dedicated technical staff of CPEL have developed considerable expertise and experience in various world markets, and many of our varieties offer such significant advantages over those currently in use that we see exports as a major platform for our future development.
